Eagle Rare

Tasted August 2019

Beautiful copper hue that gives way to sweet vanilla notes with hints of citrus and mint.

On the palate, this is just an all-around great bourbon. Notes of vanilla take off with some soft caramel notes. No, not caramel…more like honey in the sweetness and body. The finish has some hints of wood with a little spice; yielding almost cedar notes. As it opens up there are notes of dried red fruits, raisins or cherries. All combined I get raisin toast with butter and honey.

Eagle Rare?

This isn't the hardest one to find from the Buffalo Trace property but it can still be a little rare. The price is reasonable enough to make this an excellent daily sipper!

Dominant Flavors:

Dried fruit. Creamy notes. Rich honey.
